A Bluesky in our future

As you may know, a few years ago, we discontinued our Twitter account because it wasn’t suiting our needs, and we had philosophical concerns about how the company and the app are run. We are now observing that the Meta apps are no longer the social media apps that once encouraged a sense of community. Now a revenue generating machine, Facebook has become more and more difficult for us to get our message to our friends and supporters without having to pay to play, or getting lost among countless advertisements and sponsored posts on your timeline. Instagram limits our ability to share our own content beyond memes and pretty pictures.

Only a handful of our hundreds of social media followers see our posts at all. Added to that, reduced moderation is allowing rampant misinformation, AI-generated content, and politically-based negativity that makes it difficult to trust anything we see. Freedom of speech is an important foundation of our country, but when that right is used to delude and harm people, it is no longer freedom. For many, this has become too much, and Bluesky seems to be emerging as a popular alternative.

We will continue to do our work to transmute these energies, and inspire you with spiritual wisdom. Meanwhile, we understand the desire for folks to look beyond the classic social media options for alternatives that are more aligned with their moral values. In this light, we are now posting on Bluesky, so folks who have abandoned Meta and what was once Twitter, can continue to learn about and support our teachings from where they are.

Our Bluesky handle is @meditatewnc.org. We have added a social link at the bottom of the page of our website. Just follow the butterfly!
