The Meditation Center offers a variety of classes to help you “Find your Peace.” Classes are not held on federal holidays or on the 29th, 30th or 31st of the month. Please refer to the Calendar page for specific dates. You can also sign up for our email list by clicking the link under “Stay In Touch” link on the right side of this page, or your can like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter for updates.

Learn to Meditate

This is the class for you!  We’ll teach you the basic principles and purpose of meditation, including different ways of using meditation to find peace, internal guidance and satisfaction in your life, no matter what is going on around you.

Living with Sacred Laws

One of our founding principles at The Meditation Center is that we create our happiness or unhappiness as we live in harmony or discord with natural physical and spiritual laws. Rev. Glenda Cadarette returns to help us take a beginning look at the Natural Laws of the Universe and how to use them to balance your life.

Rev. Cadarette will be available for private counseling sessions by appointment.

Winter Solstice Meditation

The Winter Solstice is the first day of Winter, the time when the daylight is the shortest and the night is longest. It is a time when the world finishes giving of its harvest bounty, and transitions to a time of dormancy and replenishment. It is the time when all of life sleeps a little longer in preparation for longer days and the new growth of spring. Join us as we celebrate the darkness and return of the light, as well as the beginning of winter.

New Year Renewal Meditation Service

Monday, January 1, 2018 at 12:00 noon

Join us on New Year’s Day at noon for our annual renewal meditation service! Now in its 10th year, this annual celebration features a brief lecture, meditation and chakra alignment focused on letting go of the past and welcoming a brighter, better future. No matter what’s going on in your life, there is always room for improvement. Let go of the “rules” that hold you back, and create a new freedom to create whatever it is you desire in your life. The program will be followed by a brief celebration of our second anniversary! Thanks for making it such a wonderful year at The Meditation Center!

Ongoing Classes

Healing Meditation

Tuesdays at 7:00 pm

A weekly guided meditation focusing on optimization of mind, body and spirit for participants, loved ones, all life everywhere and our planet. We join our energies and intent with other groups around the country to manifest healing and peace in our world.

Sessions not held on 5th Tuesday of the month or on federal holidays that fall on Tuesday. On those dates, we ask you to take a moment and meditate with a focus on healing from wherever you are.

What to expect: This is a guided meditation session. Participants should plan to arrive and be seated no later than 10 minutes before start time, and should be able and prepared to sit quietly in low light for up to 30 minutes.

What to bring: Shoes are not permitted in carpeted areas where classes are conducted. Please bring clean socks to wear during the class. You are also welcome to bring a sweater or light blanket. If you prefer to sit on the floor, you may want to bring a small cushion to sit on.

Out of respect for our guests with allergies, please avoid the use of essential oils and fragrances.

Saturday Spiritual Discussion Group

Saturdays at 10:00 am
$10 Donation

Join us on Saturday mornings for an interactive discussion on spiritual principles, followed by a guided meditation to reflect on that day’s topic.

This class is not conducted on the 5th Saturday of the month or on major federal holiday weekends. Check our Calendar page for complete schedule.

What to expect: This class includes a lecture/discussion lasting about 45-50 minutes. After a short break, we will enter into a guided meditation. Participants should be able to sit comfortably for up to 30 minutes in low light. Please expect to arrive and be seated by 9:50 am.

What to bring: Shoes are not permitted in carpeted areas where classes are conducted. Please bring clean socks to wear during the class. You are also welcome to bring a sweater or light blanket. If you prefer to sit on the floor, you may want to bring a small cushion to sit on.

Metaphysical Lecture Series

Third Sunday of each month at 2:00 pm

Join us for our monthly Metaphysical lecture that explores the deeper meaning of scriptural passages and natural laws to help us unlock the lessons that help us interact more effectively with people and situations in our modern world.

What to expect: The first half hour before the lecture program begins (1:30-2:00 pm) is silent meditation and spiritual healing, followed by a Metaphysical lecture.  Program includes music, gratitude and lots of fellowship.

What to bring: An open heart and mind!

Free Meditation Class for Seniors

Third Wednesday of each month at 1:00 pm
Jackson County Senior Center, 100 County Services Park, Sylva, NC 28779

We invite Jackson County residents age 50 and over to join us every month for a free meditation at the Jackson County Senior Center. We spend about a half an hour going into the silence to find our peace. Call 586-5494 for more information on senior center activities. Sponsored by the Jackson County Department on Aging.

What to expect: This class features a guided meditation and soft music, focusing on relaxation and releasing your tensions and the concerns of the physical world. Participants should be able to sit comfortably for up to 30 minutes in low light. Please expect to arrive and be seated by 12:55 pm.

What to bring: Everything you need is provided. Come as you are, expecting to Find Your Peace!

Available Classes

These classes and activities are available by request for individuals or groups. Please contact us if you are interested in scheduling a class, either at our center our at a mutually agreeable location. We can also work with you to develop a special program for your organization, business or group.

Relax! (Meditation for Relaxation)

Take a moment to relax! This class is designed for those who want to “find their peace” in their lives.  Use meditation and breathing techniques to reduce stress, sleep better and of course, relax!

WINGS Support Group

The loss of a loved one, no matter the circumstances, can be a difficult process to go through. We know we’ll survive it, but sometimes it’s nice to have a safe space to discuss your feeling and to share your stories. We’re here for you.
